On the top floor of Kafe & Mugs in Prague you will find a ceramic studio. Here you can try one of the stages of the mugs' journey - painting. Painting yourself is the perfect relaxation, whether you come to paint alone or in a group with friends. Our wonderful painters also create beautiful ceramic works in the studio, which you can view and purchase.
Paint your mug, bowl or plate with us. We will clean, burn and prepare your work for pick up. Your pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe and you can safely eat and drink from it.
You choose the ceramics you want to paint and we will show you how to do it, i.e. how to work with the paints, and we will be happy to advise you on the further procedure. We will then fire the ceramics in a special ceramic kiln and you will either pick up your finished work in the studio or we will send you the ceramics by post. Ceramics are usually fired within 5 days. We also offer the option of picking up your ceramics the next day for a small additional fee to cover the individual firing of the ceramics.
Of course you can come without a reservation. But if you want to be sure that we will have a vacancy at a given time, or if you know exactly which product you would like to paint, make a reservation. Either in the booking system here on our website or call us and we will create a reservation together.
We accept last reservations at 5:00pm so that you have plenty of time to create your artwork. As a general rule, larger groups need more time to paint. Please let us know in advance how many people you are bringing. After all, the studio has a limited capacity and standing around painting is not at all comfortable.
It depends on what exactly you are going to paint. To paint a classic size mug costs 390 CZK. Smaller things like plates flat figures, tiles are around 250 CZK. In case of booking you can also request a larger product, but the size also determines the price. If you would like a non-standard piece painted, you need to email keramika@kafeahrnky.cz at least three weeks in advance.
Each piece is a hand sculpted original.
The painting itself will take you around 2 hours. We will then fire the ceramics and have them ready for collection within 5 days, but we can usually do it sooner. When your piece is finished, we'll send you a text message and you can come pick it up anytime during studio hours. Didn't get a text message? Don't be afraid to text or call us, we make mistakes too.
We can also mail your ceramics to you. But there is a risk that even with the best packing of the ceramics, the mug may break on the way, the ceramics are very fragile.
If you need the ceramics faster, we also offer the so-called "pottery". The express service is available for an additional charge of 100CZK per piece of pottery (to cover the cost of individual firing).
Make a loved one happy. Give a voucher for painting or a voucher for the purchase of finished ceramics from our painters. You can pick up the voucher in the studio, or email us at keramika@kafeahrnky.cz or via the contact form at the bottom of the page and we will send the voucher in electronic form (PDF) by email and you can print the voucher afterwards. We will leave the value of the voucher entirely up to you. The voucher has unlimited validity.
Have your mugs made to order. We offer ceramic or porcelain products with your company logo or a castomized design by our painters. We are also happy to create wedding plates, unique coffee shop mugs or even unique planters to your liking.

All products are hand finished, fired and packaged with perfect care. Even so, it can still happen that a mug cracks in the kiln, a lug breaks off or doesn't come out the way we would like it to.
